Under the name LEADER Kids you will find all our children and family projects in one place. Whether projects such as HistoSchool, Discover the West or completely new, exciting activities - always with the familiar faces of Mia & Emil and their family and friends.
Here, history, nature and culture are conveyed in a playful way so that children and families can experience and recognise our region again and again.

MIA & EMIL
Mia and Emil are two siblings from Luxembourg.
Mia is 8 years old and loves cycling. Emil is 5 years old and loves splashing around in the water. Both are passionate detectives, love puzzles and treasure hunts and are always learning new things.
How nice that you are now accompanying her!

Activity for the 4th level
Two games for the classroom in which children can get to know Mersch as it was 100 years ago and draw a comparison with today.
An afternoon with Maria, Myriam and Marco in Mamer…
A story to read aloud about the municipality of Mamer with illustrations. Children in higher grades can read the story themselves.
Contents: myths and legends, important places and historical figures from the community.
Al Schmelz is the former ironworks in Steinfort where foreman Pir also works. But now he has forgotten the secret code for the lock on his locomotive... Help Mia & Emil find it!
An animated film shows how the “Al Schmelz” in Steinfort works, with explanations of the processes in the smelter and the individual buildings.
This is a short explanatory video to supplement the lessons. The model of the “Al Schmelz Steinfort” site can be created in group work.
The story with two characters (Gréitchen and Péitchen) accompanies the class through various stations (school, Villa Collart, smelter, slag heap, Atertbahn tracks, ...) to the former quarries at Schwarzenhaff. Various activities are planned with the class along the way: answering questions, a group game, an orientation game and collecting material for a craft activity, crafting and taking photos.
The costumes for the photos can be borrowed from the LEADER office upon request.

An information station in Mersch Park features four well-known personalities from Mersch. The station offers the opportunity to play a little game to get to know the people and their work in Mersch. If you prefer to do the activity in the classroom, you can borrow the station's cardboard cubes from the LEADER office.
The book Balafré was created in collaboration with the LCD-Annexe Mersch and tells the story of the legend Balafré for students in level 4 with matching illustrations. The book and the story can be used in German lessons or as an introduction to the topic of wolves.
The activity is recommended for levels 1, 2 and 4.
The story familiarizes the students with the Käercher Gréiweschlass, life in the Middle Ages and various historical figures. It is a loving story with a happy ending, but it also deals with a sad part of Käerch's history, the witch hunts in the 17th century.
A simply written story to read aloud with matching illustrations. It can be used in grade 4 as an introduction to the topic of the Middle Ages.
This is a book about the Simmerhof and its products, various herbs and their uses. In the book you will find a number of activities that can be carried out with the herbs. The book contains activities for different age groups.
