The LEADER project Mountainbike Éislek took seven members of the working group of the same name on a technical excursion to Trippstadt in Rhineland-Palatinate on 23 and 24 October 2025. There, the delegation learned about the mountain bike infrastructure of the Pfälzerwald mountain bike park and gained an insight into its organisational structure.

In particular, the clear division of tasks, the close cooperation between the forest, the municipality and the mountain bike community as well as the open communication culture in the Palatinate Forest served as important sources of inspiration for the further development of the project in Éislek. The two-day programme included a guided tour of the mountain bike park and a professional exchange with representatives of the mountain bike park, tourism and the forestry administration. The knowledge gained will now be incorporated into the further course of the project and should help to establish a sustainable, nature-friendly and high-quality mountain bike infrastructure in Éislek - supported by a strong network of local and regional partners.
