4th call for projects:
As part of the Umbrella Project, the LEADER Region Mëllerdall specifically supports small projects and committed initiatives. These projects in particular make an important contribution to voluntary work and play a key role in actively strengthening community life in our municipalities. They provide new impetus, create additional offers and ensure tangible added value for the entire region.
The current thematic focus is on the areas of „Culture & Tourism“. After three successful calls for funding, the project is now entering the next round: since March 2026, submissions for creative mini-projects have once again been possible as part of the fourth call. Interested parties can submit their ideas until 4 September 2026. The projects to be supported will be selected by the beginning of October 2026. The projects can then be implemented from October 2026; the project duration is limited to a maximum of one year.
Funding opportunities
Each mini-project can be funded with up to €4,000.
Who can apply?
Anyone who is committed to the region can take part - from clubs, municipalities and municipal commissions to schools, youth centres and non-profit organisations.

Brief description of the project:
Small projects and initiatives in the region can be supported as part of the so-called umbrella project, for which the bureaucratic effort involved in a larger LEADER project is generally not worthwhile. However, small initiatives are often the ones that promote volunteer work, involve the local population and generate visible added value. In addition, the bottom-up principle can be implemented particularly well in these projects.
In an umbrella project, the LEADER group defines the thematic focus, which is centred on „Culture & Tourism“ for the first two-year project phase.
Process:
- decision-making body for the selection of mini-projects in the LEADER Board
- selection criteria for the mini-projects
- agreements with the sub-project sponsors
- Implementation of the sub-projects by the respective sponsors
- Budget per sub-project: EUR 1,000 to EUR 4,000
- Project sponsors for the mini-projects can be: associations, municipalities, commissions of municipalities, schools, non-profit organisations, youth centres, retirement homes, non-governmental organisations, working groups (non-organised groups). Companies, businesses and political parties are excluded from funding.
