Initial situation

The marketing of regional products has always been an important LEADER topic. At the same time, there are repeated calls that the local supply infrastructure in the small villages of rural regions is declining or de facto no longer exists, particularly with regard to meeting places (cafés) or local suppliers ("epiceries").

Description of the project and its components

One solution to increase the efficiency of local producers and the region as a whole could be to pool regional production forces and activities towards joint promotion, processing, storage and marketing of food products (at least in some areas). Joint centralised marketing of products in particular could significantly increase the reach of regional products and thus create new sales markets in the form of more regional customers.

The long-term goal is to develop a functioning overall concept for marketing regional, sustainably produced food and other products.

Module 1: Inventory

An initial, holistic inventory of regional direct marketers, products produced (both agricultural and other) and existing projects, campaigns, initiatives and associations.

Module 2: Steering group of regional producers & other stakeholders - development of the project

This committee develops ideas and guidelines for the project from a professional perspective.

Module 3: Feasibility study and study trips

The steering group is to be professionally supported by a planning office, which will help develop ideas and work out the slopes for the follow-up project.

Module 4: Addressing producers

Regional direct marketers should only be approached once a concept has been developed and a concrete plan for its implementation has been drawn up. Every regional producer should have the opportunity to utilise the developed sales structure at any time.

Module 5: Communication - product buyers, target group definition, customer approach

An initial awareness in the regions that a corresponding marketing structure will be created is to be created via a corresponding communication campaign.

Goals of the project

  • Promote the sale of local products.
  • Develop solutions together with regional direct marketers (from various sectors) to enable better marketing of products in the future.
  • to develop solutions for the creation of new points of sale and local supply in the regions.
  • Bundling of regional production forces and activities.
  • Sensitisation of consumers.
