European SlowTrips

The transnational project European SlowTrips focuses on sustainable, decelerated travel experiences away from mass tourism. The focus is on digital innovations, ecological responsibility, cultural participation and long-term, systemic changes in rural tourism. The Guttland region is actively involved in the implementation and further development of the successful SlowTrips concept.

GOALS:

1. digital transformation

  • Optimisation of the website with new tools, virtual assistants and an improved booking system.
  • Each participating region offers at least 10 SlowTrips experiences.
  • Expansion of reach through targeted social media measures.

2. green transformation

  • Promotion of sustainable mobility.
  • Knowledge exchange in the Knowledge Expert Hub.
  • Introduction of quality management with defined criteria by external evaluators.

3. cultural transition

  • CO-CULTURE: Strengthening regional identity & building a sustainable, transnational community.
  • CO-CREATION & CO-WORKATION: Development of participatory, sustainable tourism concepts.
  • CO-INNOVATION network: Promoting innovative cooperation and competitiveness.

4. systemic transition

  • New narratives & narrative structures
  • Mentoring by experienced partner regions.
  • Roadmap for long-term development.

PROJECT PHASES

  1. Idea developmentEstablishment of a knowledge expert hub to generate innovative concepts.
  2. Pilot projectsTesting and optimising selected concepts at regional level.
  3. Dissemination & promotionMaximising the visibility and reach of the Slow Trips community.

 

PLANNED ACTIONS:

At a transnational level

  • Transnational project management and 6 transnational project meetings, organised in cooperation with external tourism experts
  • Website update including advertising campaigns (slowtrips.eu)
  • Social media campaigns and posts
  • Quality control (certification / quality control training)

In the region Guttland

  • Regional project coordination and participation in transnational meetings
  • Experience development and knowledge exchange
  • Regional marketing to position SlowTrips
  • Development of an own co-working concept (1 concept per region) incl. workshops and eductou if necessary
