As part of the project, an integrated tourism experience is being developed along the historic Jhangeli route and other important tourist attractions in the region. The aim is to integrate existing sights, natural areas and local offers into a coherent, bookable tour format. The focus is on quality of experience, regional relevance and sustainability.
Planned measures
- Benchmarking and study visits
- Analysis of possible operating models
- Testing of suitable vehicles and technical solutions
- Inventory of possible routes and authorisation of vehicles
- Clarification of legal issues
- Carrying out a feasibility study and drawing up a business plan
Development of specific tourism offers - Project coordination
Project goals
- Preparation of a well-founded feasibility study and a business plan for two possible implementation options: a vehicle-based mobility service along the Jhangeli route and an alternative big bike solution on existing cycle infrastructure.
- Analysis of the potential for upgrading the Beckerich, Useldange, Martelange and Rindschleiden sites for tourism and for greater integration of the former railway stations of Noerdange, Niederpallen and Redange.
- The aim is to create a viable basis for decision-making for the implementation of a successfully realisable model for soft mobility in rural areas.
