BioEnergie Green Triangle

SIAER has commissioned a feasibility study to investigate

The inter-municipal syndicate SIAER is having the technical and economic feasibility of a bioenergy plant based on fermented and woody biomass in the immediate vicinity of "Le Triangle Vert" analyzed. The aim is to investigate whether the companies in the existing "Le Triangle Vert" industrial estate or in the expansion currently being planned could be supplied with biogas, electricity or waste heat from a regional biogas plant.

The project idea is based on the LEADER project “Verwaertung vu Biomass aus der Regioun”, which was implemented in the funding period 2014 – 2022, in which LEADER Miselerland had a biomass potential study drawn up for all municipalities in the Miselerland.

With the support of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, SIAER is currently planning to expand its regional industrial zone ZAE Triangle Vert to include an area in the Ellange-Gare district of the municipality of Schengen in order to attract additional companies there or to offer existing companies development opportunities. The land will be made available by SIAER in the form of building rights for a period of 30 years. SIAER has initiated the planning steps for this from 2021 and intends to start development work from 2026, which is expected to last two years. The first companies should be able to settle in the expansion area from 2028 - and possibly be supplied with green energy from the region.
