The Mamer Youth Centre has won first prize at the "Perfect Dinner"! Congratulations! Second place in the youth centre cookery competition went to the Steinfort youth centre. Third prize went to the Eischen youth centre. The other places went to the youth centres from Bissen, Olm and Kehlen.

The cooking competition between the youth centres in the LEADER region of Zentrum Westen was a complete success. What began as a challenge behind the cooker turned into a great experience for everyone: The young people made new contacts beyond the municipal boundaries and the educators exchanged valuable experiences - a perfect recipe for successful youth work.

At the end of the event, the LEADER Centre West office invited the six participating youth centres to an action-packed afternoon at Koerich Castle. Before the winners of the perfect dinner were announced, the young people competed together as a large group against their supervisors in various games and experienced lots of fun and team spirit. They ended the day together with a barbecue buffet.

The cookery competition has shown: Cooking, laughing and trying out new things together not only brings great menus to the table, but also strengthens cohesion among young people in the region.

The campaign is part of several youth events organised by the LEADER project Youth have been created. The aim of the project is to strengthen cooperation between the youth centres, promote the exchange of good practice examples and adapt the services to the needs of young people. Socially disadvantaged young people in particular should have better access to activities and be able to organise their own projects.
