The LEADER bureau is located in the tourist town of Echternach, the oldest town in Luxembourg and home of Saint Willibrord. Developing tourism activities is a central topic for the LAG. In close cooperation, innovative projects such as the Mullerthal Trail, a hiking trail through the region, the concept for a regional cycle path network and the "Tourist Info 2.0" projects were initiated. In addition, economic development projects such as the Mëllerdaller producers, the marketing of "Holz vun hei" and the "CIRCLE" project on the circular economy are trendsetting. Integrative social programmes are not neglected in the region either. The LAG is particularly proud of "Super Senior", a successful tutoring project run by seniors for schoolchildren that has also been well received outside the LEADER region.
The LEADER region Mëllerdall currently comprises 13 municipalities: Beaufort, Bech, Berdorf, Consdorf, Echternach, Fischbach, Heffingen, Larochette, Nommern, Rosport-Mompach, Reisdorf, Vallée de l'Ernz and Waldbillig.
The LEADER region Mëllerdall is located in the east of the country bordering Germany. The Luxembourgish name "Mëllerdall", translates as "Valley of the Mills" and is a reference to the area’s tradition of mills. The rock formations of the Luxembourg sandstone are distinctive, extraordinary and fascinating. The sandstone presents a unique attraction that has turned the region into a popular tourism and leisure destination with a high experience value. The region also became a Nature & Geopark Region in 2016 and is part of the worldwide network of UNESCO Global Geoparks since 2022. An award that, among other things, recognises the cooperation between the numerous partners in the region.
The region's economy is based mainly on tourism, agriculture, trade and crafts, the service sector such as gastronomy or retail.
