Martine Hemmer takes over communication for five LEADER regions

Since April 1, Martine Hemmer has been supporting LEADER Luxembourg as Communications Officer. The 47-year-old is working full-time to raise awareness of the European initiative in Luxembourg and to attract even more people in the regions to rural development ideas and projects.

Martine Hemmer brings with her many years of experience in journalism and public relations. Most recently, she was responsible for communications at the Kirchberg Fund. Prior to that, she worked for many years as a journalist, including in Saarland for the Saarbrücker Zeitung and in Luxembourg for the weekly magazine Telecran.Martine Hemmer holds degrees in political science, media studies, and German studies from the University of Trier. The LEADER environment is not entirely new to her: she was already managing director of the LEADER region in 2007/2008 Lëtzebuerg West and launched the development strategy for the funding period 2007–2014.

"I'm excited to now be working for all five LEADER regions in the country, getting to know the diversity of the projects and bringing them to a wider audience," says Martine Hemmer. When she's not out in the regions, she works in the Zentrum Westen office in Tuntange.
