LEADER and village development are actively shaping the programme of the Luxembourg Winegrowers' Day on 4 February 2026 in Wormeldange with three thematic contributions.
- Jean-Claude Welter from the Ordre des Architectes et des Ingénieurs-Conseils (OAI) will present the LEADER project „Concours Gîtes touristiques Miselerland“. The aim of the project is an architectural competition for new guest accommodation and holiday homes in Miselerland, modelled on the „Kabaisercher“ on the Minett Trail. Winegrowers will soon be able to express their interest here if they would like to become involved in enotourism.
- In the subsequent presentation, village developer Jessica Cimander will explain to the winegrowers the funding opportunities that the „Développement villageois“ programme can offer them, for example in the creation of holiday homes or in the marketing of their products.
- Felix Weyer will present the LEADER project „Rebflächenbörse & Brachflächenmanagement“. He will introduce a new website where winegrowers or vineyard owners who are no longer cultivating their vineyards can offer their plots. Winegrowers looking for additional plots can in turn find what they are looking for there. The presentation will also look at alternative uses for vineyards that have been taken out of production - with the aim of preserving the characteristic landscape of the Moselle valley.
The organisers - the Luxembourg Winegrowers Association and the Institut Viti-Vinicole (IVV) - are expecting around 150 winegrowers to attend the 18th Luxembourg Winegrowers Day. The programme includes further specialist presentations on soil health, peronospora, PIWI varieties, "flavescence dorée", drones, dealcoholisation, wine marketing and wine tourism. The winegrowing policy section with speeches by the President of the Luxembourg Winegrowers'' Association, Paul Funck, and the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Viticulture, Martine Hansen, is a must. An exhibition with a number of suppliers from the wine industry rounds off the varied day, which ends with a barrique wine tasting.
