A delegation from LEADER Mëllerdall and LEADER Wëlle Westen travelled to Leipziger Muldenland to find out about the projects of the German partner LAG. The focus was on professional exchange on regional development orientated towards the common good.
At the symposium for a region worth living in „Good living in Muldenland“ on 24 March 2026 in Seelingstädt, representatives from local authorities, civil society and business discussed new approaches for sustainable regional development that is geared towards the common good: Keynote speeches, practical examples and workshops on the Common Good Index offered concrete insights and promoted understanding of innovative instruments such as the Common Good Compass.
In the evening, the delegation visited the Freie Gymnasium Borsdorf and met with regional stakeholders.
On 25 March 2026, an excursion through the Leipziger Muldenland LEADER region led to several project locations. Visits included the Trebsen secondary school, the parish of Nerchau, the PartheCafé in Zweenfurth and the youth centre and advisory board in the „SPOC - Space of Change“ in Brandis.
The meeting provided valuable impetus for the further development of the LEADER regions and illustrated once again that development in rural areas thrives on the extraordinary, often voluntary commitment of many people.
