In the small, informal setting of the Beim Krukert brasserie in Garnich, the Saturday, 26 April 2025the presentation of the new book From the Duerf - Tales of love took place. This took place as part of a LEADER project from the last funding period, organised by Kultrun asbl, which pursued the goal of preserving the rich local history of the LEADER Region Center West and bring them back into people's consciousness.

The atmosphere was very cosy and warm right from the start. The brasserie was packed with locals, history buffs and friends of the project. The various authors who contributed to this work read excerpts from their chapters with a lot of heart and commitment. In doing so, they not only conveyed a picture of the past, but also brought the special features and emotions associated with our villages back to life in a lively way.

The texts read out covered a wide range of topics: from personal memories about local traditions and the development of village life to anecdotes about special moments that have characterised life together. People laughed, listened and sometimes even reminisced nostalgically.

Food and drinks were provided and there was plenty of opportunity for stimulating discussions between the authors and visitors. The book is of course available in various bookshops across the country!

The afternoon in Garnich showed how much there is in our local history and how important it is to document and pass it on. Thanks to the initiative of Kultrun asbl in collaboration with LEADER and the strong commitment of all those involved has resulted in a work of inestimable value not only for us, but also for future generations.
