At the end of the year, the „Alternative forms of housing“ working group from the Centre West LEADER region visited three examples of innovative housing projects in the municipalities of Beckerich and Saeul:

1. Detached house in BeckerichA small terraced house with a living space of 75 m² and a width of four metres. The building has a double south-facing façade and was built as a passive house in timber construction. The garage is integrated into the thermal building envelope and equipped with photovoltaic modules.
2. JUCK housing project in BeckerichPassive multi-family house with an energy self-sufficiency level of around 60 per cent, jointly realised by a building group.
3. Cité Schwebach - Solar CommunityHousing estate with a consistent focus on solar energy and communal, sustainable forms of living.

The half-day excursion was organised by LEADER Zentrum Westen together with the Beng architects' office and the Réiden energy park. The aim was to show concrete practical examples and promote professional dialogue on sustainable and alternative forms of living.
