As part of the transnational LEADER project „Stronger together for sustainable tourism“, representatives from ORT Region Müllerthal – Little Switzerland and LEADER Regioun Mëllerdall took part in the practical workshop organised by the „Monitoring Pedestrian and Cycling Traffic“ network. The event took place in Kandersteg and at Lake Oeschinen in Switzerland and was organised in cooperation with the UNESCO World Heritage Site Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch.

The workshop focused on specialist presentations on the topics of „Current monitoring concepts: challenges and solutions“, „Visitor management in relation to nature conservation and natural hazards“, and innovative monitoring projects in various settings, as well as workshops and field trips. In addition, numerous practical examples were presented, highlighting new approaches to recording and managing visitor flows in the leisure and tourism sectors.

The event provided an excellent opportunity for a constructive and practical exchange with experts from various regions. Participants were able to take away many interesting ideas, suggestions and examples of best practice, which will provide valuable impetus for the further implementation of the LEADER project „Stronger together for a sustainable tourism“ and the future development of sustainable mobility and visitor management concepts in the Müllerthal region.
