On 25 and 26 February 2026, the „Subgroup on LEADER and territorial development“ of the European CAP Network met in Brussels for its 4th meeting. Luxembourg was represented by Françoise Bonert (Ministry of Agriculture) and Anette Peiter (LEADER Mëllerdall).

The focus was on the current situation of LEADER implementation as well as future EU financial planning and the proposals for the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) 2028-2034 with regard to LEADER. Participants were also able to find out about „Smart Villages“ and other initiatives for the social, economic and territorial strengthening of rural regions.

Another focal point was the discussion on the strategic priorities of the EU CAP Network. The focus was on sharing experiences on topics such as youth and generational change, communication, women in leadership roles and regional resilience.

The meeting also provided space for networking and discussions within the European LEADER community.
