With the transnational cooperation project „Time Travel“, the LEADER regions Éislek (Luxembourg) and Regatta - LEADER Region Attersee-Attergau (Austria) are making their cultural and natural heritage digitally accessible. At the inauguration ceremony in Marnach, representatives from both regions presented the results of this cross-border cooperation.

The idea was born at the LINC conference in Pärnu, Estonia, where representatives of the two regions discovered their shared interest in communicating regional history using new technologies.

The project organiser ORT Éislek asbl has been able to define individual POIs (points of interest) through joint exchange trips in both regions and, together with the member municipalities and local stakeholders, has selected points that have been highlighted in this project. Information boards at 20 locations in Éislek tell visitors about historical buildings, landscapes and traditions. Visitors can use a QR code on their smartphone to access further material and videos, which have also been set to music in the Luxembourgish language, including the unique dialects. 4 information boards illustrate the similarities between the two LEADER regions in the areas of culture, regional products, hiking tourism and water. These can also be found in the Austrian partner region, drawing visitors' attention to the other region.

At the inauguration, representatives from Luxembourg and Austria, including Minister of Agriculture Martine Hansen, Minister of Culture and Minister Delegate for Tourism Eric Thill and Austrian Ambassador Dr Karin Proidl, emphasised the value of digital innovation for regional identity. Another focus was on the added value of international cooperation and the numerous opportunities for further cooperation projects across borders.
